Contrary to its claims Russia is building up their troops in Syria – as reported is by media.

At the end of December, Putin announced about the reduction of Russian troops in the region.

Russia increases their military presence in Syria despite of declarations about the beginning of its decline. About it reports Fox News with reference to two American officials.

Despite of the ordinance from Russian President Vladimir Putin on the reduction of the Russian forces in Syria, on the contrary, Moscow has increased its presence in the region.

According to Fox News sources at the last week Russia transferred to Syria, four attack aircraft SU-25 on the airbase Hamim. According to one of the channel interlocutors, the planes stayed in Iran for refueling.

Another official said that a group of Russian service-men arrived in Syria, including the fighters from Chechnya, however, specific numbers, he didn’t know.

Earlier, the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Shoigu said about the possible reduction of Russian forces in Syria because of the beginning of truce dated of 30 December.

So, at last week, the aircraft carrier group of the Russian Armed forces led by "Admiral Kuznetsov" began the transition from the Mediterranean sea to Severomorsk.

During the operation in Syria, "Admiral Kuznetsov" has lost two fighter aircraft - MiG-29 and Su-33. The accident was explained by the failure of cables, which should stop the aircraft on the deck.
